This process ensures that you are directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional who can best assist with your problem. The acute hub consists of GPs, paramedics, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and nurses, all working together to provide the right care for your needs.

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception on 01865 242334 before 11:00am.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.

Depending on the problem you have, either a paramedic or a GP will come to see you.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Chaperones and Interpreters

Chaperone Policy

You are very welcome to be accompanied by a trusted friend or relative at your consultation if you wish, and this is all the more important if English is not your first language, or if you feel you might not be able to express what you need clearly to the doctor or nurse.

In addition, for intimate examinations, you will be offered the choice of having another trained chaperone present at the examination.

Interpreting Services

If you need an interpreter for your consultation the reception will be able to arrange this for you at the time of booking your appointment through a service called Language line. We have some staff on site who speak other languages and if they are available they could be called to translate, with your consent.
